A working group of the Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee (MERPAC) will meet to work on Task Statement 71 concerning review of the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency (KUP) tables for deck and engineer officers listed in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended, for alignment with the Coast Guard examination topic tables. This meeting will be open to the public.

The Coast Guard will enforce special local regulations at various locations in the Sector Columbia River Captain of the Port Zone from May 30, 2026, to August 8, 2026.
