Food Additives Permitted for Direct Addition to Food for Human Consumption; Acesulfame Potassium

Resumen

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of acesulfame potassium as a nonnutritive sweetener in yogurt and yogurt-type products, in frozen and refrigerated desserts, and in syrups, sweet sauces, and toppings. This action is in response to petitions filed by Hoechst Celanese Corp. and Kraft General Foods.
