The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) and its Committees will hold public meetings on August 22-26, 1994, at the Town and Country Inn, 2008 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC; telephone: (803) 571-1000. Public scoping meetings will be held on August 22, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., to solicit comments on controlled access options for Atlantic Spanish mackerel and on Amendment 8 to the Coastal Migratory Pelagics (Mackerels) Plan. Some measures included in Amendment 8 are: (a) Commercial trip limits for Atlantic king mackerel; (b) Federal dealer permits for coastal pelagics; (c) A fixed boundary between Gulf and South Atlantic stocks of king mackerel; and (d) Alternative requirements for obtaining a coastal pelagics permit; etc. The Bluefish Committee will meet from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. to review an updated stock assessment and to discuss recommendations of the 1994 Fishery Management Plan Monitoring Committee and implementation of state commercial quotas and recreational limits. On August 23, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon, the Spiny Lobster Committee will review public scoping meeting comments to determine additional management necessary for the spiny lobst
