Résumé

The Captain of the Port of New Orleans, under the authority of the Magnuson Act, 33 CFR sections 165.30 and 165.33, has established a security zone for the Michoud Slip encompassing the entire slip from position 30[deg]0'34.2" N, 89[deg]55'40.7" W to position 30[deg]0'29.5" N, 89[deg]55'52.6" W across the mouth of the slip. Vessels will not be allowed to enter this security zone without the permission of the Captain of the Port, New Orleans. This security zone is necessary to protect the Deepwater Horizon blowout preventer and adjacent piers and infrastructure from destruction, loss or injury from sabotage or other subversive acts, accidents or other causes of a similar nature.

Security Zone; Ohio River, Cincinnati, OH

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary security zone for all navigable waters of the Ohio River, extending the entire width of the river, between mile marker (MM) 461 to Mile 473. This security zone is needed to provide waterside security and protection of persons under the protection of the United States Secret Service during a visit to Cincinnati, OH. Safety Zone; Annual Fireworks Displays Within the Sector Columbia River Captain of the Port Zone

The Coast Guard amends the regulations establishing safety zones for annual fireworks displays in the Captain of the Port Zone Columbia River. This action adds a safety zone for a fireworks display, removes a safety zone for a fireworks display no longer under the Coast Guard's authority and jurisdiction, edits a fireworks display's name, and adds a second date for a fireworks display. This rulemaking prohibits persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Columbia River.

Security Zones; Vessels Carrying Dangerous Cargo, Corpus Christi and La Quinta Ship Channels, Corpus Christi, TX

The Coast Guard is establishing a security zone around vessels carrying Certain Dangerous Cargos (CDCs), for which the Captain of the Port, Corpus Christi deems enhanced security measures are necessary on a case-by-case basis. This security zone is needed to safeguard these vessels, the public, and the surrounding area from sabotage or other subversive acts, accidents, or other events of a similar nature. This rulemaking prohibits entry of vessels or person into this security zone during enforcement periods unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Corpus Christi or their designated representative.

Safety Zones; Recurring Safety Zones in Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes Zone

The Coast Guard will enforce various safety zones for maritime events in the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes. Enforcement of these safety zones is necessary to protect the safety of life and property on the navigable waters immediately prior to, during, and immediately after the events. During the periods in question, the Coast Guard will enforce restrictions upon, and control movement of, vessels in a specified area immediately prior to, during, and immediately after events. During each enforcement period, vessels must stay out of the established safety zone and may only enter with permission from the designated representative of the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes.

Safety Zone; Sector Mobile Annual and Recurring Safety Zones

The Coast Guard is proposing to revise its regulations for permanent safety zones in the Coast Guard Sector Mobile Captain of the Port Zone, 33 CFR 165.801 Table 7, to update the current list with revisions and additional events. The proposed safety zones are necessary to protect event participants, waterway users, and vessels from the potential hazards associated with these recurring events. This proposed rulemaking would prohibit persons from being in the proposed safety zones without permission from the Captain of the Port (COTP) or the COTP's designated representative. We invite your comments on this proposed rulemaking.

Safety Zones; Annual Events in the Captain of the Port Eastern Great Lakes Zone

The Coast Guard will enforce multiple safety zones located in federal regulations for recurring marine events taking place in June and July 2026 to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during these events. Our regulation for marine events within the Coast Guard Great Lakes District identifies the regulated areas for these events. During the enforcement periods, the operator of any vessel in the regulated area must comply with directions from the Captain of the Port Eastern Great Lakes or a designated representative.
