The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Hoechst Celanese Corp. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the expanded safe use of 4-chloro-2-[[5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-(3-sulfophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]azo]- 5-methylbenzenesulfonic acid,calcium salt (1:1) (C.I. Pigment Yellow 191) as a colorant for all polymers intended for use in contact with food.
