Temporary Drawbridge Regulations; Mississippi River, Iowa and Illinois

The Coast Guard is temporarily adding a drawbridge operation regulation governing the Rock Island Railroad and Highway Drawbridge, Mile 482.9, Upper Mississippi River. The drawbridge will remain closed to navigation from 8 a.m. on December 28, 1998 until 8 a.m. March 1, 1999. This closure is necessary to perform annual maintenance and repair work on the bridge. Winter conditions and Corps of Engineers' lock closures upstream and downstream from the bridge preclude normal waterway traffic.
