The FAA is proposing this action due to the decommissioning of the Fort Scott non-directional beacon (NDB) and the Phillipsburg NDB and the cancellation of the associated instrument approach procedures. This action would enhance the safety and management of instrument flight rules (IFR) operations at these airports.
