USDA Forest Service, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and California Public Utilities Commission to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Calpeco 625 and 650 Electrical Line Upgrade Project

Summary

The USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, and the California Public Utilities Commission, along with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, will prepare a joint Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Impact Report to assess the environmental impacts of Calpeco's proposed 120 kV transmission line upgrades in the north Lake Tahoe area, which includes rebuilding approximately 10 miles of transmission line and 15 miles of existing line.
