NIST Extends APMS Direct-Hire Authority Pilot for Six Months

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is extending its Alternative Personnel Management System (APMS) direct-hire authority pilot for six months, starting January 5, 2012, to cover positions in the Scientific and Engineering career path at Pay Band III and above, as well as Nuclear Reactor Operator positions in the same career path, and certain occupations with special pay rates.
