The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued four exemptions in response to requests from ZionSolutions LLC; Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc.; and Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC. The exemptions allow the licensees to deviate from the requirements for the MAGNASTOR[supreg] storage cask system in Certificate of Compliance No. 1031, Amendment No. 7 (for Catawba and McGuire) and Amendment No. 6 (for Zion and Kewaunee), by utilizing two exceptions to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The NRC is issuing a single notice to announce the issuance of these exemptions because these are nearly identical.

SMR, LLC; Palisades SMR, LLC; Pioneer Units 1 and 2; Exemption

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an exemption in response to a request dated December 31, 2025, from SMR, LLC, on behalf of Palisades SMR, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Holtec International (collectively, Holtec) for approval to allow construction of permanent support of excavation walls prior to the issuance of a limited work authorization for Pioneer Units 1 and 2. The support of excavation walls will remain in place after construction is complete.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received and is considering approval of an application filed by NextEra Energy, Inc. (NextEra Energy), Dominion Energy, Inc. (Dominion Energy), Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO), Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut (DENC), and Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc. (DESC) (collectively the Applicants) on July 15, 2026. The application seeks NRC approval of the indirect transfer of the facility operating licenses, materials licenses, and general licenses for Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (Surry); North Anna Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (North Anna); Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (V.C. Summer); and Millstone Power Station, Units 1, 2, & 3 (Millstone); as well as the combined license for North Anna Unit 3; and the North Anna Early Site Permit. The application contains sensitive unclassified non-safeguards information (SUNSI).

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued an order approving the indirect transfer of control of Radioactive Materials License No. 39-35044-01, License Nos. DPR-43, DPR-73, and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation general license No. 40, as well as Export Licenses XW010 and XW018 from EnergySolutions, LLC to ECP VI, LLC and its ultimate parent, Bridgepoint Group, PLC. STP Nuclear Operating Company; South Texas Project, Unit 1; License Amendment Application

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, the Commission) is considering issuance of an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-76, issued to STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC); Constellation South Texas, LLC; City Public Service Board of San Antonio; and City of Austin, Texas, for operation of South Texas Project, Unit 1 (STP). The proposed license amendment would, if granted, make a one-time exigent change to the technical specifications (TS) to extend the allowed outage time (AOT) for TS 3.7.1.7, "Main Feedwater System". This proposed amendment is being requested to facilitate repairs to the Unit 1 train D main feedwater isolation valve (MFIV). This proposed amendment is being requested under exigent circumstances pursuant to NRC regulations.

Draft NUREG: Training Review Criteria and Procedures

On July 22, 2026, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) solicited comments on draft NUREG-1220, Revision 2, "Training Review Criteria and Procedures." The public comment period was originally scheduled to close on August 21, 2026. The NRC has decided to extend the public comment to September 21, 2026, to allow more time for members of the public to prepare and submit their comments.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, the Commission) is issuing an order approving the application dated April 24, 2026, filed by Arizona Public Service Company (APS), on behalf of Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM), Troy ParentCo LLC (Troy ParentCo), and their corporate affiliates (together, Applicants). The application sought NRC consent to the indirect transfer of control of PNM's co- ownership of the Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-41, NPF- 51, and NPF-74 for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (Palo Verde), Units 1, 2, and 3, respectively, as well as the associated general license for the Palo Verde Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) (together, the facility). No physical changes or operational changes to the facility were proposed in the application.
