WTO Dispute Settlement Proceeding Regarding India-Additional and Extra Additional Duties on Imports

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is providing notice that on March 6, 2007, in accordance with the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization (WTO Agreement), the United States requested consultations regarding additional and extra additional duties India applies to imports from the United States. India applies these duties to products that include, but are not limited to, imports of wines and distilled spirits. That request may be found at www.wto.org contained in a document designated as WT/DS360/1. USTR invites written comments from the public concerning the issues raised in this dispute.

Notice of Determinations and Request for Comments Concerning Actions in Section 301 Investigations of Acts, Policies, and Practices of Various Economies Related to the Failure To Impose and Effectively Enforce a Prohibition on the Importation of Goods Produced With Forced Labor

On March 12, 2026, the United States Trade Representative (Trade Representative) initiated 60 investigations related to the failure of various economies to impose and effectively enforce a prohibition on the importation of goods produced with forced labor. The Trade Representative has determined that 54 of the investigated economies have failed to impose and effectively enforce a forced labor import prohibition. The Trade Representative has determined that six of the investigated economies have failed to effectively enforce a forced labor import prohibition. The Trade Representative has determined that the failure of each of the investigated economies to impose and effectively enforce a force labor import prohibition is unreasonable and burdens or restricts U.S. commerce. As a result of the findings in each investigation, the Trade Representative proposes that appropriate action includes additional duties on all products of the investigated economies, except as provided in Annex A to this Notice. Notice of Actions in Section 301 Investigations of Acts, Policies, and Practices of Various Economies Related to the Failure of Each Economy To Impose and Effectively Enforce a Prohibition on the Importation of Goods Produced With Forced Labor

The United States Trade Representative (Trade Representative) has determined under Section 301(b) and Section 304(a) of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended (Trade Act), that in each of 60 investigations, certain of the acts, policies, and practices of the economy at issue are actionable and that action by the United States is appropriate. In accordance with the specific direction of the President, the Trade Representative is taking actions in each of these investigations by imposing tariffs on all products of the investigated economy, with certain exemptions as provided in Annexes I and II to this notice (Notice). Consistent with the specific direction of the President, for an economy that imposes a forced labor import prohibition, has committed to impose and enforce such a prohibition through an Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART), or has imposed a partial regime with the effect of preventing the importation of certain forced labor goods, the Trade Representative has determined 10 percent is the appropriate rate of Section 301 duties, with specific economies subject to a 10 percent rate net of a product's most-favored-nation (MFN) duty. Notice of Continuation and Request for Nominations for the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), pursuant to section 4(d) of Executive Order 11846 of March 27, 1975, section 135(b) of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2155(c)(1)) as amended, and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App. II), expects to establish a new four-year charter term and is accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in serving as a member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN).
