Notice of Fund Availability for the Fair Housing Services Center in East Texas

This NOFA announces the availability of funds and HUD's request for proposals (RFP) to establish a Fair Housing Services Center in East Texas to be administered by a non-profit organization (NPO). HUD will award to and enter into a contract with an NPO to administer the FHSC as required by the Final Judgment and Decree (Final Judgment) in Lucille Young v. Cuomo, CA No. P-80-8-CA, (E.D. Tex.; dated March 30, 1995). HUD has been ordered to provide $500,000 per year for a period of at least five years to fund the FHSC to be located in Beaumont, Texas, with branch offices within the 36 county area that constitutes East Texas, and one mobile office unit to provide services to remote locations throughout East Texas. Appendix A to this Notice is a copy of the Request for Proposals (RFP) and Program Guidelines.
