The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 2- hydroxy-1-[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]-2-methyl-1-propanone as a photoinitiator for adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives intended for use in contact with food.
