The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff is holding a meeting to provide brief overviews of their planned Integrated Review of the NRC Assessment Process for Operating Commercial Nuclear Reactors, planned improvements to the current Senior Management Meeting (SMM) process, and to provide members of the public, including Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) representatives, an opportunity to provide early input and comments on these efforts. The meeting is open to the public and all interested parties may attend and provide comments.

Draft Interim Staff Guidance: Evaluations of Risk Assessments for Risk-Informed Decision-Making for Regulatory Applications

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is soliciting public comment on its draft Interim Staff Guidance (ISG), OAR/DARP-ISG- 2026-XX, "Evaluations of Risk Assessments for Risk-Informed Decision- Making for Regulatory Applications." If finalized, this ISG will provide guidance to the staff for reviewing systematic risk assessment methods, including probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs) and other systematic risk evaluations (SREs). This ISG will supplement existing guidance to facilitate the staff's understanding of the uses of risk information in regulatory applications and application of principles of risk-informed decision-making.

Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes: Meeting Notice

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will convene a meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI) on September 9, 2026, to discuss and provide recommendations from the subcommittee on reducing barriers to medical use licensing rulemaking. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received and is considering approval of an application filed by NextEra Energy, Inc. (NextEra Energy), Dominion Energy, Inc. (Dominion Energy), Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO), Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut (DENC), and Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc. (DESC) (collectively the Applicants) on July 15, 2026. The application seeks NRC approval of the indirect transfer of the facility operating licenses, materials licenses, and general licenses for Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (Surry); North Anna Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (North Anna); Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (V.C. Summer); and Millstone Power Station, Units 1, 2, & 3 (Millstone); as well as the combined license for North Anna Unit 3; and the North Anna Early Site Permit. The application contains sensitive unclassified non-safeguards information (SUNSI).

STP Nuclear Operating Company; South Texas Project, Unit 1; License Amendment Application

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, the Commission) is considering issuance of an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-76, issued to STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC); Constellation South Texas, LLC; City Public Service Board of San Antonio; and City of Austin, Texas, for operation of South Texas Project, Unit 1 (STP). The proposed license amendment would, if granted, make a one-time exigent change to the technical specifications (TS) to extend the allowed outage time (AOT) for TS 3.7.1.7, "Main Feedwater System". This proposed amendment is being requested to facilitate repairs to the Unit 1 train D main feedwater isolation valve (MFIV). This proposed amendment is being requested under exigent circumstances pursuant to NRC regulations.

Arizona Public Service Company; Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3; Indirect Transfer of Control of Licenses

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, the Commission) is issuing an order approving the application dated April 24, 2026, filed by Arizona Public Service Company (APS), on behalf of Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM), Troy ParentCo LLC (Troy ParentCo), and their corporate affiliates (together, Applicants). The application sought NRC consent to the indirect transfer of control of PNM's co- ownership of the Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-41, NPF- 51, and NPF-74 for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (Palo Verde), Units 1, 2, and 3, respectively, as well as the associated general license for the Palo Verde Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) (together, the facility). No physical changes or operational changes to the facility were proposed in the application.

Draft NUREG: Training Review Criteria and Procedures

On July 22, 2026, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) solicited comments on draft NUREG-1220, Revision 2, "Training Review Criteria and Procedures." The public comment period was originally scheduled to close on August 21, 2026. The NRC has decided to extend the public comment to September 21, 2026, to allow more time for members of the public to prepare and submit their comments.
