Emergency Exemptions

EPA has granted specific exemptions for the control of various pests to the 11 States as listed below and one quarantine exemption granted to the California Environmental Protection Agency. There were also eight crisis exemptions initiated by various States. These exemptions were issued during the months of July to September 1993, except for those in February, 1993, and are subject to application and timing restrictions and reporting requirements designed to protect the environment to the maximum extent possible. EPA has denied a specific exemption request from the Idaho Department of Agriculture. Information on these restrictions is available from the contact persons in EPA listed below.
