The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of acesulfame potassium as a nonnutritive sweetener in baked goods and baking mixes, including icings, frostings, toppings, and fillings. This action is in response to a petition filed by Hoechst Celanese Corp.
