The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of phosphorous acid, bis[2,4-bis(1,1-dimethyl)-6-methylphenyl] ethyl ester as a stabilizer in olefin polymers intended to contact food.
