The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that The Dow Chemical Co. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 2,2-dibromo-3- nitrilopropionamide as a preservative for adhesives and coatings used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard intended for contact with food.
