The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Nalco Chemical Co. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of sodium acrylate/styrene sulfonate copolymer for use as an antiscalant boiler treatment where steam from treated boilers may contact food.
