The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Eastman Chemical Co. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 1,4- cyclohexanedimethanol as a polyhydric alcohol for use in polyester resins intended for coatings in contact with food.
