The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Reichhold Chemicals, Inc., has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 1,2- benzisothiazolin-3-one as a biocide in rubber latex for use in the manufacture of rubber articles intended for repeated use in contact with food.
