The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of two grades of dimethylpolysiloxane with viscosities of 100 centistokes and 50 centistokes, intended for use as release agents in the manufacture of thermoplastic elastomers.
