The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that Great Lakes Chemical Corp. has filed a petition proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 1-bromo- 3-chloro-5,5-dimethylhydantoin as a slimicide for use in the manufacture of paper and paperboard intended to contact food.
