Özet

The Coast Guard will enforce a segment of the Safety Zone; Brandon Road Lock and Dam to Lake Michigan including Des Plaines River, Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, Chicago River, Calumet-Saganashkee Channel on all waters of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal from Mile Marker 296.1 to Mile Marker 296.7 at various times on each day from June 17 through June 21, 2013. This action is necessary to protect the waterways, waterway users, and vessels from the hazards associated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dispersal barriers performance testing. During any of the below listed enforcement periods, entry into, transiting, mooring, laying-up or anchoring within the enforced area of this safety zone by any person or vessel is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Lake Michigan, or his or her designated representative.

Safety Zones; Annual Events Requiring Safety Zones in the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan Zone

The Coast Guard will enforce the safety zone for Events at Lakeshore State Park, Milwaukee, WI, on a portion of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI, for a series of dates in June, July, and August 2026. This action is intended to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by multiple fireworks and drone shows. During the enforcement period listed below, entry into, transiting, or anchoring within the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan or a designated representative.

Safety Zones; Fireworks Displays in the USCG East District

The Coast Guard is amending its regulation for recurring safety zones for fireworks displays in the USCG East District by adding safety zones for three recurring events and by amending the safety zone for one recurring event. All lie within the Virginia Captain of the Port Zone. This rulemaking will provide for the safety of life on the navigable waters at the confluence of the James River and the Appomattox River, on the Hampton River, on the East River, and on the Elizabeth River, at Town Point Reach, during firework displays typically held on each of those rivers annually.

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters on the Cheboygan River from the Cheboygan Lock & Dam Complex to the Lincoln Bridge. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards associated with work to repair the safety cable and spillway gates damaged from flood waters. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Northern Great Lakes, or their designated representative.

Safety Zones; Recurring Safety Zones in Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes Zone

The Coast Guard will enforce various safety zones for maritime events in the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes. Enforcement of these safety zones is necessary to protect the safety of life and property on the navigable waters immediately prior to, during, and immediately after the events. During the periods in question, the Coast Guard will enforce restrictions upon, and control movement of, vessels in a specified area immediately prior to, during, and immediately after events. During each enforcement period, vessels must stay out of the established safety zone and may only enter with permission from the designated representative of the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes.

Safety Zone; Annual Fireworks Displays Within the Sector Columbia River Captain of the Port Zone

The Coast Guard amends the regulations establishing safety zones for annual fireworks displays in the Captain of the Port Zone Columbia River. This action adds a safety zone for a fireworks display, removes a safety zone for a fireworks display no longer under the Coast Guard's authority and jurisdiction, edits a fireworks display's name, and adds a second date for a fireworks display. This rulemaking prohibits persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Columbia River.
