In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent agreement, accepted subject to final Commission approval, would prohibit, among other things, a California-based corporation and its officer from making any representation about the efficacy or performance of any air cleaning, air freshening, or insecticidal product, unless the respondents possess and rely upon competent and reliable scientific evidence to substantiate the representation.
