This document announces receipt of and publishes a petition for waiver from Signify North America Corporation (Signify), which seeks a waiver from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure used for determining the energy consumption of specified illuminated exit sign basic models. Signify seeks to use an alternate test procedure to address issues involved in testing the basic models identified in its petition. Signify contends that the design characteristics of its combination illuminated exit sign basic models prevent testing in accordance with the DOE test procedure and suggests an alternate test procedure approved by DOE in a previous waiver for similar equipment.
