The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announces a meeting of the Metalworking Fluids Standards Advisory Committee (MWFSAC). OSHA invites all interested persons to attend. The Secretary of Labor established MWFSAC to advise the Assistant Secretary for OSHA on appropriate actions to protect workers from the hazards associated with occupational exposure to metalworking fluids.

Information Collection; Improving Customer Experience (OMB Circular A-11, Section 280 Implementation)

Rules of Agency Practice and Procedure Concerning Occupational Safety and Health Administration Access to Employee Medical Records

OSHA is issuing a final rule to amend the regulation addressing the rules of agency practice and procedure concerning OSHA access to employee medical records. The final rule transfers the approval of written medical access orders (MAO) from the Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health (Assistant Secretary) to the OSHA Medical Records Officer (MRO) and makes the MRO responsible for making determinations regarding inter- agency transfer and public disclosure of personally identifiable medical information in OSHA's possession.

Cranes and Derricks in Construction: Railroad Roadway Work

OSHA is revising the standard for cranes and derricks in construction to provide specific exemptions and clarifications with regard to the application of the standard to cranes and derricks used for railroad roadway work. These exemptions and clarifications recognize the unique equipment and circumstances in railroad roadway work and reflect the preemption of some OSHA requirements by regulations promulgated by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The revised standard provides a clearer understanding of which regulatory requirements are applicable, resulting in a more effective regulatory program and ultimately improved safety.
