This document extends until July 3, 1996, the deadline for the submission of comments on the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking soliciting comments on the design details, terms and conditions, and other features of a new type of marketable book-entry security the Treasury intends to issue. This security, an inflation-protection note or bond, would have a return linked to the inflation rate in prices or wages. The advance notice of proposed rulemaking was published in the Federal Register on May 20, 1996 (61 FR 25164) and comments were to be received on or before June 19, 1996.
