Lindane; Proposed Decision not to Initiate a Special Review

This notice announces EPA's proposed decision not to initiate a Special Review of pesticide products containing lindane. A Special Review was proposed based on contentions of irreversible kidney effects from certain lindane exposure. EPA has determined that the kidney effects observed are specific to the male rat and are not relevant to human health risk assessment; therefore, a Special Review is not appropriate. DATES: Written comments, identified by the document control number OPP- 30000/10H, must be received on or before May 17, 1994.
