Refugee Resettlement Program: Proposed Allocations to States of FY 1994 Funds for Refugee Social Services and for Refugees Who Are Former Political Prisoners From Vietnam

This notice announces the proposed allocations to States of FY 1994 funds for social services under the Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP). In order to help meet the special needs of former political prisoners from Vietnam, the Director proposes to add to the formula allocation $2,000,000 in funds previously set aside for social services discretionary projects. In the final notice, allocation amounts could be adjusted after considering comments and evidence from States on population estimates. This notice proposes to eliminate the set-aside for mutual assistance associations (MAAs) as a separate component of the social service allocations.
