The Commission's Common Carrier Bureau is issuing this Public Notice seeking further comment to supplement the record in the rulemaking proceeding that the Commission initiated on May 17, 1996 to implement the customer proprietary network information (``CPNI'') requirements of section 222 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (``1996 Act''). The objective of the Public Notice is to provide an additional opportunity for public comment on specific issues in that rulemaking and to provide a record for a Commission decision on those issues.
