In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent agreement, accepted subject to final Commission approval, would prohibit, among other things, a suburban Washington, DC Based salon and its president from making false and unsubstantiated claims that their body wrap would cause weight-loss; would eliminate cellulite; and is completely safe for all users. In addition, it would require the respondents to convey prominent safety warnings to their customers in certain circumstances.
