EPA is taking final action to clarify the contents of the applicable implementation plan for the State of California under the Clean Air Act. Specifically, EPA is taking final action to clarify that the statutory provisions submitted by California and approved by EPA in 1972 supporting the State's legal authority chapter of the original implementation plan were superseded by a subsequent approval by EPA in 1980 of California's revision to the legal authority chapter of the plan.
