In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair or deceptive acts or practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent agreement, accepted subject to final Commission approval, would prohibit, among other things, the Cottonwood, California-based company from requesting, suggesting, urging, or advocating that any competitor raise, fix, or stabilize price levels. This consent agreement settles allegations that Precision, the leading supplier of wood products used to construct frames for artists' canvases, attempted to fix prices and restrain trade in the market for these products, known as stretcher bars.
