The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering an application for the renewal of Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) License No. SNM-2509, which currently authorizes Portland General Electric Company (PGE) to receive, possess, transfer, and store spent fuel from Trojan Nuclear Power Plant (TNPP) in the Trojan Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI). The renewed license would authorize PGE to continue to store spent fuel in the Trojan ISFSI for an additional 40 years beyond the current license expiration date of March 31, 2019.
