These security zones are needed to safeguard the public, designated vessels and their crews, other vessels and their crews, and the ports and infrastructure within the Portland, Maine, COTP zone from sabotage or other subversive acts, accidents, or other causes of a similar nature. Entry into or movement within these zones, without the express permission of the Captain of the Port, Portland, Maine or his authorized patrol representative, is strictly prohibited.
