This notice is to inform the public that the Office of Family Planning (OFP) of the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) is making available an award of approximately $500,000 in FY 1999 to Cicatelli Associates, Inc., a Title X general training and technical assistance grantee, under Section 1003 of Title X of the Public Health Service Act. These funds are from the Office of the Secretary's Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund and were provided in the FY 1999 Emergency Supplemental Appropriation Pub. L. 105-277) by the Congressional Black Caucus for the Secretary to address the HIV/AIDS crisis in racial and ethnic minority communities through specifically targeted programs that respond to changing demographics of the disease. Cicatelli Associates, Inc. (CAI) has requested these funds to support a one-year training and technical assistance project that will increase the capacity of Title X providers and other small community- based organizations to provide prevention and early intervention services for poor, minority communities disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and unwanted pregnancies.
