Announcement of Public Scoping Workshops, Storage and Disposition of Weapons-Usable Fissile Materials;Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement

The Department of Energy (DOE) will hold twelve public scoping workshops during August and September 1994 to enable the public to provide comments on the proposed scope of the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) being prepared for the Storage and Disposition of Weapons-Usable Fissile Materials. Comments received by DOE will be considered in determining the issues to be addressed in the Storage and Disposition PEIS. The Notice of Intent to prepare a PEIS for Storage and Disposition of Weapons-Usable Fissile Materials was issued by DOE on June 21, 1994 (59FR31985). Through this notice, DOE invites comments on the scope of the PEIS, announces the locations, dates and times for the public workshops, and provides the format it will follow for conducting the workshops.
