Nissan Motor Corporation in U.S.A.; Proposed Consent Agreement With Analysis To Aid Public Comment

In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent agreement, accepted subject to final Commission approval, would require, among other things, a California-based corporation to disclose clearly and prominently in each advertisement either any significant restrictions that apply to obtaining a promotional benefit in connection with a test-drive offer, or that there are significant restrictions that apply to obtaining the benefit, and would prohibit the respondent from misrepresenting any conditions, restrictions or limitations on any promotional benefit it offers consumers in the future.
