On January 2, 1992, a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Waterman and Cummings Creek Timber Sales on the Umatilla National Forest was published in the Federal Register (57 FR 38). Because of revised management direction necessitated by changes in forest conditions and the listing of Snake River Spring/Summer and Fall Chinook Salmon as threatened species, the Forest Service has decided to terminate the environmental analysis process. There will be no EIS for Waterman and Cummings Creek Timber Sales.
