Résumé

NCUA, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to comment on this reinstatement of a previously approved collection, as required by Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. 104-13, 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35). The purpose of this notice is to allow for 60 days of public comment. NCUA is soliciting comments on the reinstatement of the information collection described below.

Requirements for Insurance

The NCUA Board (Board) is amending its regulations that establish the requirements for obtaining and maintaining federal share insurance with the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (Share Insurance Fund). The provisions of this part apply to all federally insured credit unions (FICUs). The rule will reduce regulatory burden by eliminating unnecessary and redundant requirements related to disclosing when nonmember accounts are not covered by federal share insurance.

Termination of Excess Insurance Coverage

The NCUA Board (Board) is amending its regulations that establish the requirements for obtaining and maintaining federal share insurance with the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (Share Insurance Fund). The provisions of this part apply to all federally insured credit unions (FICUs). This final rule will reduce regulatory burden by amending the provision on the timing of prior notice provided to members of the termination of excess non-federal insurance coverage.
