Résumé
As part of its 1998 biennial review of regulations pursuant to section 11 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (the Act), 1 the Commission initiated a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) seeking comment on whether its rules governing interlocking directorates should be repealed. The Commission tentatively concludes that the rules should be repealed. The Commission also tentatively concludes that it should forbear from applying the provision of the Act that prohibits any person from holding the position of officer or director of more than one carrier subject to the Act without obtaining prior Commission authorization.
