Résumé

The Chicago Board of Trade, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the New York Mercantile Exchange have submitted a joint petition dated June 25, 1999, to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission requesting an exemption, pursuant to Section 4(c) of the Commodity Exchange Act, for all boards of trade that have been designed by the Commission as contract markets from certain statutory requirements concerning the contract market designation process for new contract submissions and the contract market rule review process. The Commission believes that publication of the petition for comment in the public interest, will assist the Commission in considering the views of interested persons, and is consistent with the purposes of the Commodity Exchange Act and the Commission's regulations. The full text of the petition is reproduced at the end of this Notice.
