NMFS issues interim 1996 total allowable catch (TAC) amounts for each category of groundfish and specifications for prohibited species bycatch allowances for the groundfish fishery of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA). NMFS is closing certain fisheries as specified in the interim 1996 groundfish specifications. The intended effect is to conserve and manage the groundfish resources in the GOA.
