This notice requests comments on a petition submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for a decision that a 1996 Mercedes-Benz Gelaendewagen Type 463 MPV that was not originally manufactured to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards is eligible for importation into the United States because it has safety features that comply with, or are capable of being altered to comply with, all such standards.
