Trade Policy Staff Committee; Generalized System of Preferences; Initiation of a Review of ``Reverse Preferences''; Termination of the Reviews of Worker Rights Practices and the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Dominican Republic

Traduction automatique locale · Langue originale de la source

Résumé

The Uruguay Round Trade Agreements Act (UR Act) renewed the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program until July 31, 1995. The Statement of Administrative Action (SAA) that accompanies the UR Act provides that USTR will initiate a review to determine whether any GSP beneficiary country affords preferential treatment, as a result of an economic association agreement or otherwise, to the products of a developed country, other than the United States, that has, or is likely to have, an adverse effect on U.S. commerce. This notice announces the review and invites public comments. This notice also announces the successful termination of the reviews of worker rights practices and the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) in the Dominican Republic.
