Résumé
In this Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM), the Commission proposes to eliminate the rules that now prohibit wireline telephone carriers from holding licenses in the Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) service and the commercial 220-222 MHz land mobile band. The NPRM also proposes to eliminate the current prohibition on the provision of dispatch service by cellular licensees and other licensees in the Public Mobile Services.
