NMFS is prohibiting fishing with trawl gear in the salmon savings area in the Bering Sea subarea of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area (BSAI). This action is necessary to prevent exceeding the 1994 limit of non-chinook salmon caught by vessels using trawl gear in the catcher vessel operational area.
