Refund of Duties Paid on Imports of Certain Wool Products

Traducción automática local · Idioma original de la fuente

Resumen

This document adopts as a final rule the proposed amendments to the Customs Regulations that provide for the refund of duties paid on imports of certain wool products. This document implements the provisions of section 505 of Title V of the Trade and Development Act of 2000, whereby U.S. manufacturers of certain wool articles are eligible to claim a limited refund of duties paid in each of calendar years 2000, 2001, and 2002 on imports of select wool products. The maximum amount eligible to be refunded in each of these claim years is limited to an amount not to exceed one-third of the amount of duties actually paid on such wool products imported in calendar year 1999. This document adds to the Customs Regulations the eligibility, documentation and procedural requirements necessary to substantiate a wool duty refund claim, and makes conforming changes to other regulatory provisions that are impacted by these requirements.
