Direct Funding of Public Housing Resident Management Corporations

Resumen

This proposed rule revises HUD's regulations regarding resident participation and resident opportunities in public housing. Specifically, the rule would make conforming amendments to the HUD regulations to reflect recent statutory changes made by the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The proposed rule provides that a resident management corporation (RMC) may receive capital and operating funds from HUD if the RMC has primary management responsibility for the public housing project and HUD determines that the RMC has the capacity to effectively discharge such responsibility.
